While we work with students across the country, our upcoming openings are:

Location

• Elementary and middle schools in the Adelanto, CA area, 2026–2027 school year
• Needed area: Adelanto, CA 92301 and surrounding High Desert communities

Schedule

• Afternoon sessions beginning shortly after school dismissal; exact times set by each school site
• Anticipate up to four afternoons per week (Mon–Thu), with a minimum of three
• Anticipated start: mid-November 2026, depending on contract approval; the program then runs in 12-week cycles through May

Hours

• Part-time, in-person
• 6-12 hours per week

Pay

• $23 per hour standard
• $24 per hour if bilingual (Spanish or other preferred language based on site request)
• $25 per hour if credentialed teacher or certificated tutor

In this role, you will

• Deliver targeted reading instruction in comprehension and fluency to students in grades 2–8.
• Provide small-group tutoring (groups of up to five students) using provided curriculum, evidence-based strategies, and educational technology.
• Differentiate teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles, academic needs, and developmental levels, including English learners and students with special needs.
• Build a steady, supportive relationship with the same group of students across the 12-week program.
• Track attendance and student progress and share it with your StudentNest team each week.
• Prepare lesson plans for sessions during designated preparation time.

This role is a great fit if you

• Can complete the fingerprinting process (DOJ/FBI Live Scan) within forty-eight hours of an offer, and can meet DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance requirements for this position
• Can provide a negative tuberculosis test within 2 weeks of being hired
• Can complete First Aid, CPR, and classroom-management certification, and annual mandated-reporter training, before placement at a school [state whether StudentNest provides or reimburses these]
• Can provide three professional references
• Have a minimum of sixty units of college credits
• Have at least one year of student-related experience
• Are detail-oriented and highly dependable; consistent attendance matters because students work with the same tutor all session
• Are an effective communicator
• Have reliable transportation
